Established in 2011 and working from our offices in Heswall, Wirral, SHACK Architecture ltd is a vibrant practice specialising in private healthcare, commercial and retail projects and all things residential.

SHACK Architecture was established in 2011 and is led by a chartered architect with over 20 years experience. Our current team of six includes architects and technologists with many years of experience in all sectors offering a complementary range of skills and knowledge.
SHACK Architecture ltd is well experienced in the provision of innovative design solutions to challenging project criteria. We have worked on projects as diverse as state of the art IVF clinic facilities, speculative industrial units, listed building refurbishment and restoration, psychiatric care facilities, historic churches, bespoke one off houses, speculative residential schemes for private developers, supermarkets, hotels, community facilities and restaurants.
We are passionate about sustainable design and are working towards becoming accredited Passivhaus designers. All of our projects aim to achieve the highest possible energy rating and to utilise sustainable construction techniques and materials.
We are able to work with clients to formulate comprehensive briefing documents and are happy to advise on projects of any size. We are proud that our philosophy of building relationships with our clients has led to many repeat commissions over the years and we look forward to this continuing into the future.
Our Philosophy
SHACK Architecture’s work is inspired by certain fundamental elements to which we believe all people respond: natural light, texture and colour, natural materials and the relationship between space and light.
We embrace the flexibility of open spaces to capture views and to establish a connection to nature without compromising privacy. We believe that attention to detail and creative use of materials, space and light are crucial to the success of every project.
We believe architecture extends beyond image making, it affects and influences our quality of life, and it is responsible for the environments that we live in, are educated in, work in and are healed in. SHACK Architecture strives to ensure that people are the focus of all our buildings, we constantly challenge perceptions and attitudes to create truly memorable spaces that have a human dimension.

Our fee structure is very competitive and tailored for each project. We will spend time discussing your project with you and understanding exactly what you want before giving you a comprehensive fixed price fee proposal which breaks the project down into understandable and affordable stages. Fees become payable at the completion of each stage and we will not proceed to the next stage without your approval.
