We were asked to help with the extension and refurbishment of a Grade II listed pub in Erbistock, North Wales. The new owners required better kitchen facilities, toilet facilities, a centralised bar area and they also asked us to open the building up in order to make it feel like one space, rather than a series of disconnected rooms, whilst maintaining the history and charm of the building.
This was a challenging project and we worked closely with the client, heritage consultant and local authority conservation officer to extend the property at the rear to provide a modern kitchen, toilet facilities and hard landscaping of the existing quarry. The main focus of our design was to conserve and enhance the existing period features, whilst providing a warm and inviting interior that flows well for both staff and customers.
