This project was designed to sit on a building plot that already had planning approval for a small apartment development. The brief was to create 4 large semi-detached houses that reflected the character of the surrounding residential area. The resulting scheme takes its references from the large Edwardian houses in the vicinity and utilises traditional detailing for gables, windows and bays. Chimney stacks are used to add character and the proportions of the elevations are carefully considered, using the Golden Section to ensure a harmonious feel.
Materials were all chosen to blend seamlessly with the area and are all sourced from within a 35 mile radius to cut down on carbon emissions during transportation.
